Location: Located 4 miles east of Fifield on State Highway 70.
Length: 7.15 miles on ski trails, additional mileage connecting to ATV trails.

Directions: Wintergreen Trailhead (parking fee) – From Fifield drive east 7.5 miles on Highway 70 to the trailhead which is on the left (north) side of the road.
Trail Description: Hilly, rolling terrain on wide twin track ski trails. The “A” loop crosses a bog and is not recommended for biking. Loop “B” and “C” are excellent for biking. On the northeast edge of loop “C” a short single track connects to ATV trails. Loop “D” is very hilly with steep ascents and descents. ATV trails are also located south and east of the Wintergreen Trail parking lot.
There is a shelter at the trailhead on Hwy. 70. A National Forest parking fee is required. The daily fee can be paid at the trailhead. An annual sticker can be purchased at the Forest Service Office on Hwy. 13 in Park Falls.
Cross-country Skiing – 11.5km
Located in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, this is a very popular trail system that is gentle enough for the intermediate skill level, yet challenges the experienced. This is a very scenic trail as it passes through a diverse forest of pine, aspen, birch, balsam fir, and northern hardwoods. Groomed for classic and skating. There is a warming house at the trailhead which is located 5 miles east of Fifield on Hwy. 70. A National Forest parking fee is required. The daily fee can be paid at the trailhead. An annual sticker can be purchased at the Forest Service Office on Hwy. 13 in Park Falls
Snowshoeing
Allowed to side of the set cross-country skiing tracks – please do not snowshoe on diagonal skiing tracks.
Horseback Riding
The best horseback riding on the trail can be found on Loops B & D – the middle loops- of the Wintergreen Trail. The other trail loops are generally too wet for horseback riding.
