This trail was modified in August 2007 due to the necessity of installing fencing at the Price County Airport to keep deer off the runways.

Single track mountain bike trails

5 km (orange signs) parallel the ski trails and offer a variety of loops of varying difficulty. A combination of wide twin track on rolling terrain with some steep hills and separate loops of tight, twisting single track that cross the ski trail in several places allow a mixture of technically challenging and aerobically challenging riding. The maximum elevation gain of 40 feet is deceiving because there are many sharp climbs and descents. Single track trails are available as snowshoe trails in the winter.

Cross-country ski trails:

3.15 miles / 5 km, groomed for skating; when snow conditions permit it is also groomed for classical skiing. The ski trail follows the airport fence for a few hundred yards and then proceeds to the south. There are three loops of moderate difficulty with a blend of rolling hills and flat stretches that provide a good aerobic workout with the north loop being the easiest . There is a three-sided shelter with a fire ring and firewood provided at the intersection of the two southern loops.

Snowshoe trails:

There are 5 km to 7 km of separate snowshoe/mountain bike single track trails. Snowshoers are permitted on the ski trail loops but are asked to stay to the side of the trail and not disturb the set track.

Directions:  This trail is located northeast of Phillips; from Hwy. 13 north of Phillips take Old Hwy. 13 about 1 mile to Squaw Creek Road . The parking area is about ¼ mile down on the right.  The Flambeau Nordic Ski Club maintains this trail.
