Solberg Lake/Squaw Creek Trail

Location: Located 6 miles northeast of Phillips, travel just north of town on Hwy. 13, turn east on Old Hwy 13, then right on West Solberg Lake road, then turn left on Hick’s Landing Road or from Hwy. 13 in downtown Phillips take County Road H east 1.8 miles, turn left on E. Solberg Lake Rd and drive 5.3 miles, turn right on Hick’s Landing Road and drive 1.1 miles; from Fifield, travel 1 mile east on Hwy. 70 to Hick’s Landing Road, then drive 8 miles south to the parking area.

The trail is very scenic and passes through both pine and aspen timber with gently rolling terrain. It is only mowed in late summer, as the trail is used for Grouse hunting in mid-September. This trail is located in the Price County Forest which allows the option of exploring other roads and trails in the surrounding area.

The trail surface is grass.
Horseback Riding
The trail surface is grass. There are no significantly wet areas that would be a hindrance to horseback riding.
Cross-country Skiing
This a very good trail for the beginning skier. Older skiers might also find the relatively flat trails just right for a daily exercise routine. Groomed for classic skiing only by the Flambeau Nordic Ski Club.
Snowshoeing
The snowshoe trail runs parallel to the ski trail. Please stay off the groomed portion of the trail.
