Federal Forest Campgrounds

There are five family campgrounds on the Forest - Emily Lake, Sailor Lake, Smith Rapids, Twin Lake, and Wabasso Lake Recreation Area. They usually open a few days prior to the fishing opener the first Saturday in May, and close mid- to late-October. Each campsite has a fire ring, picnic table, tent or trailer pad, parking, drinking water, vault toilets and trash pickup. Campgrounds are rustic; NO electrical hookups or showers. All sites can accommodate either one large tent or several small tents. Some sites may accommodate RVs or trailers up to 45 feet or larger.

State Forest Campgrounds

There are two family campgrounds on the Forest - Lake of the Pines Campground which is open all year, and Conners Lake Campground which is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. There are 30 campsites at each of these campgrounds. Both campgrounds are rustic; no electrical hookups or showers. There are fire rings, picnic tables, and pit toilets provided. Both campgrounds have a swimming beach, nature trail, and drinking water. Firewood is available for purchase at the campgrounds. Fires must be in an authorized fire ring only.
