Join us for our annual Phillips Christmas Parade beginning at 6PM. Enjoy and delight as the festive holiday floats proceed along Lake Avenue to the Price County Courthouse lawn where there will be a tree lighting and caroling in celebration of the season.

Enjoy a celebration dinner hosted by the Knox Creek Heritage Center including Mojakka [a Finnish beef stew] that is cooked outdoors in an iron kettle over a wood fire, homemade Finnish whole/multi-grain bread, and creamy rice with fruit sauce is served family style. The homemade Finnish bread and cardamom braid is also available for sale. Following the meal, there will be a presentation by John L. Berg relating on the history of our local railroads and the lighting of candles, a ceremony to commemorate Finland’s independence from Russia in 1917. The Knox Creek Heritage Center is an affiliate of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, it is composed of eight buildings (some over 100 years old) and artifacts representing several ethnic groups in southeastern Price County; all the buildings on the site are used to display artifacts, documents, photographs, and other memorabilia that represent the cultural, ethnic, and historical aspect of past eras.

Fill up at the all you can eat chili feed which includes chili, vegetables & dip, cheese & crackers, rolls, dessert, milk & coffee and then stay and watch the Phillips Loggers boys basketball team take on the Prentice Buccaneers. Over 100 Door Prizes. Adults-$6.00, Child 6-12: $4.00, Children 5 & under eat free. Proceeds go to the Phillips High School football program.

On Saturday, start your day by having breakfast with Santa (9am-Noon), decorate cookies & cupcakes, and get pictures with Santa at the Family Worship Center. There will be holiday shopping available at an arts & crafts fair at the American Legion Hall from 12pm-6m; join Santa for dinner from 4pm - 6pm or get a picture taken with Santa. At 6pm, Santa will travel to Triangle Park for Christmas carols and the "Light up the Town" tree lighting ceremony with the Chequamegon Madrigal Singers to follow. Kids receive tickets at each activity with a chance to win a mega stocking. There will be additional raffle drawings every half hour throughout the day (9am-7pm); tickets will be available starting November 25th at the chamber office and local participating businesses until Noon Friday. On Sunday, kids can visit Santa's workshop to build and decorate special crafts with Santa and his elves beginning at 9am at Park Falls Ace Hardware. Run, Bike or Ski this race - 80-mile & 160-mile distance options; the 160-mile race is an Iditarod Trail Invitational (ITI) Qualifier Event. ** 2018 ITI Race Entry will also be up for grabs ($1,400 value)!! ** The race HQ will be in Rice Lake at the Knights of Columbus (KOC) Hall; 160-mile races will start/finish on the Wild Rivers State Trail right at the KOC Hall; follow the trail north to join the Tuscobia State Trail at the Rice Lake terminus and continue to Park Falls; checkpoint in Ojibwa (both directions for the 160-mile) and the turnaround in Park Falls (80 miles away) with a checkpoint at the Park Falls Gastropub, return to the KOC hall; 80-mile races will start in Park Falls at St. Anthony's parking lot with coffee/baked goods for the racers from 9 -10 a.m. at the Padua Center. The 80-mile race will finish at the KOC Hall in Rice Lake. Pre-registration is required; no race day registration. Racers are self-supported with only minimal aid provided on the trail at two places.
